Organising Committee of ORLEN 77th Rally Poland statement

The ORLEN 77th Rally Poland is knocking at the door. This is the time of rallying celebration and a chance to watch FIA ERC competitors during high-speed gravel battle. This year’s edition marks 100th anniversary of this event, but unfortunately it is being prepared, while we all struggle with consequences of COVID-19 pandemics.

We receive numerous questions regarding spectators presence along the route of special stages. Unfortunately, current law regulations do not allow to hold such an event with the attendance of spectators. As organisers we are obliged to prepare all necessary documents, which need to be provided to the authorities in order to get the permission to run the rally. Documents such as Safety Plan and Temporary Traffic Rule Changes have been already done and are about to be agreed with local police and local government.

In respect to the current law these documents state that spectators are not allowed to attend the event. Therefore, the organisers do not plan to prepare spectator zones, car parks and to sell the tickets. Moreover, as it is expressed in Appendix S of FIA International Sporting Regulations, fans are not allowed to enter the service park either.

If the COVID-related restrictions are lifted soon enough to change the rally documents before the permission to run the rally is granted, rallying fans might be allowed to watch the action during ERC-opener live. We all hope that ORLEN 77th Rally Poland will run with the spectators along the stages. We will keep you updated about any changes.
