PZM 76th Rally Poland in 2019 FIA ERC calendar

(09/11/2018)  PZM 76th Rally Poland was included into the elite group of eight rounds of 2019 FIA European Championships calendar. The next year's Polish classic is scheduled for 28-30 June at Masurian gravel stages and with the headquarters of the rally situated in Mikołajki resort for the fifteenth time. A brand new event - the Hungarian Rally in Nyíregyháza was introduced to the calendar as the final round of the oldest rally cycle in the world.

Michał Sikora, President of Polish Automobile and Motorcycle Federation said: We are very pleased that Rally Poland gained the recognition of the FIA and the ERC Promoter again. Our classic event has been on the calendar of the most important rally championships in the world and in Europe for decades. Few countries can boast of an event of such a tradition and standard as our Rally Poland, which we will carry out for the seventy-sixth time next year. Many years of experience of Polish Automobile and Motorcycle Federation and Clubs members from around the country have resulted in a high level of organization of the rally, which was emphasized this year by competitors, FIA representatives and ERC Promoter. We naturally strive to make the event even more attractive, including for the fans. That is why we decided to run the next year's rally at the end of June. Several previous editions of Rally Poland, held at that time, showed that it was a date more in line with the expectations of rally fans. Polish competitors will be also happy to hear that they will also fight for points on Masurian gravel stages in the national championship. We already have a project of PZM 76th Rally Poland route, which will use seventy percent of proven special stages known from this year's edition. For the fifteenth time we organise the rally in the picturesque Mikołajki resort, where we can always count on very good cooperation with local authorities.

The FIA ERC 2019 calendar, which consists of eight rounds (four gravel and four asphalt) has been announced by the ERC Promoter and was approved by the FIA Rally Commission. The calendar will now be presented to the FIA World Motor Sport Council for final approval scheduled for 5 December 2018 in St. Petersburg.
